Food for Thought

I suggested these videos about Education and Creativity to my tutor in the Early Inset and she quite liked it. I'd like to share it with you guys as well. Each video takes 10 minutes, but I assure you it is worth watching.

Crazy about "animotoing" - Putting Jr.D and Basic 2 together...

To start with, I decided on not wasting any paper. The students generally bring their own notebooks. Tha's more than enough.

I innitially proposed a dictation and according to vocabulary investigation previously done, I found out that many interesting coincidences lay into both levels (Jr.D and Basic 2) table of content concerning grammar... COMPARATIVES...

(Btw, Andrea, I've got to thank YOU for the excellent boys you have... :P Tell them to check out our animoto at the "mashed-up" Junior D's weblog: http://coolcrazyclass.blogspot.com/)

After having dictated 7 sentences mixing Past and Present Simple structures, the most familiar possible to all the students' ears, as well as considering variety and grading new vocabulary (which I call: vocab associations) to both groups that built up all the connections teaching ones to the others meanings of words and giving examples to each other in a crashy competitive environment, healthly controlled, though.

Dictation
1. Me and my daughter bought a present.
2. Marge and Lisa are stranger than my mom and my sister.
3. They ate a bowl of cereals for breakfast.
4. They had a glass of orange juice with lunch.
5. Cereals are cheaper than turkey.
6. Santa Claus is fatter than the teacher.
7. Winter was colder last year.

We got to the following sentence:
"Marge and Lisa Simpson ate a bowl of cereals on Christmas because it's cheaper than a turkey."
Rather complex following the contructive interational devices and strategies embedded in it.

and then, that's what we got...

Try it out and give me some feedback,

Natural Disasters

Animoto clip created by 3 students of my Basic 5 group - They started from scratch and produced an awesome clip! Great way to revise vocab and they had lots of fun! :)

Cheers,
